Our story
Serving the commercial and industrial roofing needs of Northern California for decades.
Just Leaks Inc. has been serving the commercial and industrial roofing needs of Northern California for decades. The company was originally founded by J. Martin Lasica, a dynamic figure in the roofing industry. After moving to California in 1982, J. Martin started a successful roof maintenance company in San Jose called Burmco. Following his retirement in the late 1980s, and after years spent abroad in Asia, J. Martin returned with a renewed passion for the industry.
In the early 1990s, during the housing slow-down, J. Martin teamed up with his stepson, Scott Siemer, to start Just Leaks Inc. Scott, who was born in New Jersey, raised in Connecticut, and moved to California in 1978, had already built a solid foundation in construction. He earned his general building contractor’s license in 1984 and gained extensive experience in new homes, additions, and solar design, including pioneering the first “double envelope” home in Santa Cruz County. Scott’s construction knowledge, combined with J. Martin’s extensive roofing expertise and business savvy, laid a strong foundation for the company’s success. Scott then added the C39 roofing classification to his contractor’s license.
In 1995, Scott bought out J. Martin and incorporated Just Leaks Inc. His brother, Craig Siemer, soon joined the team, bringing his own extensive construction experience to the role of production manager. Craig runs the crews, overseeing job execution and keeping our jobs on track. Under their leadership, the company expanded its reputation for providing top-notch commercial roofing services throughout the Bay Area.
In 2023, after more than two decades of ownership, Scott passed the torch to Hector Flores, a dedicated team member who had been with the company for 19 years. Hector’s leadership marks an exciting new chapter for Just Leaks Inc., continuing its tradition of excellence.
From Monterey to Livermore to San Francisco, Just Leaks Inc. remains committed to providing the highest quality commercial roofing services for our industrial and commercial clients in the following counties:
The Just Leaks Crew
During the roofing maintenance and repair seasons in the SF Bay Area, the Just Leaks team is broken up into crews of two. We begin each day around 6:30 AM. Since each crew is assigned to a different job site, we spend our mornings discussing our various projects. We provide lunch materials to all our employees as a way to encourage proper nutrition and eliminate the need to leave the job site at the noon break. Before heading off to their roofing project, everyone makes their lunch, then loads their Falcon Ranchero or Ford Service Van for the day’s assigned commercial and industrial roofs.
The partnership between the members of each roofing crew is critical. Just Leaks crew partnerships rarely change. The level of cooperation and understanding that develops within teams as they work on commercial and industrial roofs over time together is strong. Working well with others is an important part of our employee evaluation and development program. During the rainy season, when most roofs show signs of leakage, commercial roof repair is time-critical, and our teammates need to know that they can rely on each other. We have little employee turnover at Just Leaks because we’re a San Jose-based business that works together like one happy family.
We try to keep the work environment as stimulating as possible with constant training in new construction and waterproofing techniques. There are a lot of different skill sets that need to be developed to be a well-rounded and capable technician. Our employees are rewarded with incentives for quality and productivity. They also receive benefits, including paid vacation time and a health care program.
Just Leaks provides tailored, experienced, and reliable roofing service to commercial and industrial operations throughout San Jose and the SF Bay Area.
